About our School
Daoine Sidhe means "Faery Folk" in
old Irish. Our name reflects our
philosophy of preserving a true
heritage which is rapidly decaying in
todays competitive dance industry.
Whether your interest is in
Performance, Recreational or
Competitive (Feis) dancing, we have a
program for you.
About our Classes
Remarkably Small Classes. Daoine Sidhe
generally runs classes with an average of 6-10 age-
matched students. Adult classes average 8-12
students. Compare that to the dozens of students
others run with mixed ages.
Lesson DVD's help our students retain lessons
and practice at home.
Positive Learning Environment. Each student is
constantly monitored and assisted with positive
reinforcement. Dancing is a social activity that
should help your child develop mentally, physically
and socially. It should be challenging, yet fun.
Daoine Sidhe Academy uses positive encouragement
and an understanding of child development to help
students learn and enjoy their dance career.
Year-round events. Students may choose from a
variety of public and school performances and
competitions throughout the year.
Optional programs. Competition and
performances are optional and not a consideration in
an individual students' education. Everyone receives
a tried and true curriculum that prepares students
for any activity. Whether it be championship
competition, staged performance, or recreational
dancing. Every student receives equal and personal
instruction.
Delaware County Community College
Daoine Sidhe Academy has Partnered with Delaware County Community College
to create the Nations first Academic Career Certificate in Irish Dancing. The four
semester program will began in Summer 2007 and will continue throughout 2008.
